Discovery Learning dalam Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam: Kajian Literatur tentang Konsep, Langkah Penerapan, dan Relevansinya

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) requires a learning model that encourages students to actively construct knowledge while internalizing Islamic values. One relevant approach is the Discovery Learning model, which positions students as active learners through the process of discovering concepts independently. This study aims to analyze the concept, implementation procedures, and relevance of the Discovery Learning model in Islamic Religious Education. The research employed a qualitative approach using a library research design. Data were collected from scholarly journals, books, and other relevant literature and analyzed descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Discovery Learning enhances students' learning participation, motivation, critical thinking skills, learning independence, and conceptual understanding of Islamic Religious Education. The model is implemented through six stages: stimulation, problem identification, data collection, data processing, verification, and generalization, making learning more meaningful and contextual. Therefore, Discovery Learning can serve as an effective alternative learning model in Islamic Religious Education because it not only improves learning outcomes but also supports the internalization of Islamic values and students' character development
