Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) integrated with pesantren values in supporting the Merdeka Curriculum and to examine its contribution to the development of students’ competencies and character. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method, with sources derived from books, scientific journal articles, and relevant documents related to PjBL, pesantren values, and the Merdeka Curriculum. Data collection techniques were conducted through documentation studies, while data analysis used content analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the integration of PjBL with pesantren values is able to improve students’ competencies holistically, including cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspects, as well as strengthen character development and independent learning. In addition, the integration of pesantren values into contextual learning makes the learning process more meaningful, relevant, and oriented toward character building. The implications of this study show that PjBL based on pesantren values can serve as an alternative innovative learning model that is effective in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly in developing competent, independent, and well-characterized students.
