This community service program aimed to strengthen Qur’anic reading literacy and collaborative learning dynamics among housewives, particularly employees’ wives in a plantation community setting, through a participatory, community-based training model. The program engaged experienced community members (including retirees) as main tutors and organized participants into small learning groups supported by peer tutoring. Training sessions were held twice a week (2–3 hours per session) over several weeks and followed a gradual learning sequence covering hijaiyah letter recognition, basic diacritics (harakat), makhraj articulation, and guided practice of short Qur’anic verses. Monitoring was conducted through direct observation, attendance records, individual progress notes, and informal interviews to capture participants’ learning experiences. The program documented participants’ progress across four core components—letter recognition, accuracy of harakat, makhraj articulation, and reading fluency of short verses—reflected in reduced corrective feedback needs and smoother performance during group practice and the end-of-program recitation activity, which served as an informal evaluation. Participation remained high (attendance consistently above 90%), and the number of participants increased from 18 to 27 during implementation, indicating good acceptability. Socially, the program supported greater confidence in reading aloud, fostered peer support within small groups, and led to the formation of a self-managed learning group after the program ended
